Our team at Burke and Schindler assists New Housing Ohio with many aspects of their business. We advise New Housing Ohio on audit and financial matters, as well as assist in the preparation of various tax forms. Due to a recent acquisition by NHO, we assisted the management team in developing systems and processes to convert cash basis accounting to accrual basis accounting for certain account balances to enable their current auditors to issue a clean audit opinion on their financial statements. During recent conversations with the management team, we determined that the company may be eligible for the Employee Retention Credit and our team is currently engaged in that process.
Led by President and CEO Scott Boone since 2004, New Housing Ohio has grown from a single-county housing provider into a statewide leader of affordable and supportive housing spanning nearly 20 counties across Ohio. These facilities consist of group homes, shelters, and transitional living facilities. New Housing Ohio is a developer, owner, and manager of specialized housing, primarily serving the mentally ill, developmentally disabled, substance users, and homeless population. In the spring of 2022, New Housing Ohio is moving its headquarters to Lebanon, Ohio, and will be rebranding its business.
